Office For iPad UPDATE! [Breaking News]

We recently reported that Office is coming to the iPad, this is now not true as Microsoft has just announced that this information is fake.

MriOSDevices and a lot of people are sad as this would’ve been a awesome application.

It seems that Office for Mac is Apple’s limits for Microsoft at this time.

Well do you blame Apple? Do you think this is a bad idea?

Seems iWork is king for now..

Microsoft Office Coming To iPad??

The PC has it, the Mac has it, isn’t it time the iPad has it?

Well yes, it has been spotted in the wild and has the Metro UI Themed look and it has hints of the OneNote app which has been out on the iOS App Store for a while now.

This suite will take on Apple’s awesome iWork suite of software and will go alongside the thousands of apps on the Store.

MriOSDevices welcomes Office with open arms and think it’ll increase the productivity of the iPad 2(maybe 3?) even more than it already is.

We want to know what you think about this, tell us below!!

Below is a picture of the Office that has had a sneaky picture taken of it.

iOS 5.1 Brings New Camera Unlock Action!

The BGR Group of Geeks have acquired the yet to be released iOS 5.1 Software Update, this is the full version, not the betas anyone can get their hands on.

They have found that there is a brand new camera action in the lock screen, this is similar to the already available Camera Button that you can tap to unlock it and take a few snaps.

This is very handy, for example; if you see an extremely famous celebrity nearby or a rare Lamborghini Supercar that has just been released, you can snap it and post it to Twitter straight from the app in seconds. Something else which is good to know is that you can take a snap using one of the volume buttons on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch(not iTouch, its iPod Touch, we hate that).

MriOSDevices hope you found this article enjoyable and please check out MrTechStore, our new store with all the accessories for your devices you would ever need!

“Mac” May Be No More, Here’s Why – [Evidence]

With the news of “Mac OS X 10.8 AKA Mountain Lion, we will over the next few weeks see little updates to an already iOS involved operating system.

In the latest developer preview, we’ve already heard about a few major additions to OS 10.8 – this will be available to the public in the summer of 2012 [less than a year since OS 10.7 Lion].

What some people have already noticed is the “Mac” name in parts of the OS, gone. This show’s that Apple are dead set on creating a more iOS user interface in their computers.

As you can see above, the main “about this Mac” is missing a pretty significant word, Apple have removed this to give their products a more uniformed partnership. while 10.7 Lion was obviously a step towards a more mobile esq platform. Mountain Lion integrates much more, with the likes of Messages, Notifications & GameCentre

Here’s a recap video from MrThaiBox123 on YouTube – give him a subscribe for the latest in everything Apple

MriOSDevices has always been a fan of Lion, in all honesty Mountain Lion will impress us even more. Make sure you bookmark out site for all the latest in Apple news. You can follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook and Subscribe to us on YouTube

App Review: WalkNText

WalkNText is an app recommended for people who text whilst they walk.

The app has many useful features, including a transparent keyboard. With this you are given the ability to see what is in front of you whilst you “WalkNText”. Other features many will find useful is the ability to share any text to popular social networking websites including Twitter & Facebook and also by email. If the app is installed on an iPhone you can send any text via SMS.

If you like taking photos on the move you also have the ability to do that within the app, a flash function is built in if you have the hardware to support it. Works on iPhone, iPod Touch 4G & iPad.

The iPad 3 – What To Expect #MriOSDevices

So the rumour mill has been spinning full throttle the past few days, MriOSDevices wants to give you it’s perception of whats to come.

1. So what is most likely to be in the 3rd instalment of the iPad?

As far as we are concerned, the iPad 3 or 2S will have a retina display, this was anticipated in the current version however Apple struggled with battery power and it didn’t come to light.

Also expected that the next-gen iPad will have a larger battery to handle this screen as well as handle the extra processing power.

The new A6 chipset is expected in this version and it will also feature a quad-core processor

2. How much will it cost?

Many rumour and the consistency of apple makes this pretty easy to recommend, Prices for the base model wifi only will be approx £399.00 UK or $499.00 US running all the way to the top model (Wifi & 3G model) costing £659.00 UK & $829.00 US

True to form when the next-gen iPad is announced, Apple should drop the price of the current iPad by £100 / $100 so if you’re looking for a bargain then this might be your option.

Another widely anticipated extra will be a 128GB drive, what would we see this priced at, leave a comment below with your thoughts.

3. What software can we expect

Siri is currently only for the iPhone 4S, Mainly to encourage users to purchase their latest devices, we can honestly see Siri coming to the next iPad as it will attract users without Siri currently on their older devices

It will come with iOS 5 like the current iPad, the next major firmware upgrade will be 5.1 which is currently in Beta.

4. What would we like to see on the next iPad

If apple can give us all of the above then i think this would be a successful update to an already brilliant device, Picture that we will post below show upgraded rear cameras however no sign of an upgraded front facing camera (which is very much-needed) hopefully the rear camera will match, if not super seed the 4s 8mp)

5. Finally – will a tablet give apple any competition in 2012

This is pretty much an easy answer in my opinion, no….. Apple is finally achieving a world-wide boom in profit, sales and recognition. this is something Window’s has held so several years in an already difficult market.

The only competitor that’s realising apple is currently Samsung, and personally. as long as they try to get customers by insulting apples achievements then we doubt they will.

App Review: Fruit Blast!

Fruit Blast is an extremely addictive game created by the lovely devs at MEDL Mobile and Rob Shoesmith, its $0.99 now in the iOS App Store.

In the game, you have to try to shoot the evil Monkey whilst he moves around and chucks fruit at you. You also have to reload and shoot before the timer runs out, it is extremely addictive and hard, Rob Johnson only got to the very first level, he is not that good at games though, if you are up for a challenge and want to get nothing done at work or at home, this is the game for you. It is not battery heavy at all, the iPod Touch has a poor battery anyway, normally the battery playing Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja would die after an hour or just over if you are on half brightness, this didn’t even put a dent into it.

It is not graphically intensive either, that does not mean it is basic, old graphics, just it doesn’t use iOS’ full potential, still great fun though, it uses all the iPhone’s controls and internal sensors to move around when playing. The app is extremely stable too, never crashed once!

Rob had to stop the extreme testing a bit shorter than usual due to iPod Touch hardware faults but we won’t get into that. Rob and MriOSDevices definitely recommend Fruit Bash so get it now!

RIP Steve.

Samsung Continue To Rip Apple In Their Ads!

Samsung recently have launched their new advertisements taking fun out of Apple Products, it started with the Galaxy S2 having turn by turn navigation and the iPhone 4S didn’t. Every ad starts with Apple Fanboys in line for the latest phone, something Dan, CEO of MriOSDevices does every release.

Samsung say that lots of people respect Apple and they should have “Freedom”. The video shows everyone getting out of line and jumping around in the street.

Samsung are showing off their Galaxy Note in this ad which is a 5.3″ phone with a pen, Mr Jobs said “if you see a stylus, they blew it.”

MriOSDevices has disliked the video on YouTube but whilst you are too, check out our channel!
