Gmail For iOS Released

Earlier today Google released a native Gmail app for iOS. The app, which seems to have been removed from the app store has a much nicer interface than the native Gmail app for Android. Unfortunately there are bugs in the app which was probably why it was pulled such as push notifications not working.

Another thing that is disappointing about the app is that it doesn’t support multiple accounts, the animations inside the app do look better than the ones on the Gmail web app but still seem to lag.

Features:

  • Get alerted to new messages with push notifications and sounds
  • Find an email in seconds with search across your entire inbox
  • Autocomplete email addresses from your Gmail contacts or select from your device’s address book
  • Upload photos with a click using the new attachment button in compose view
  • On iPad, navigate your inbox and read your mail simultaneously with split view

Google has acknowledged the notification bug and released a statement saying that’s why they removed it from the app store.

Jet Pack Joyride App Review, & Get It For Free!

Jet Pack Joyride has been around for a while now but a few days ago the AppStore started to give it to free if you liked thier Facebook page. If you have Facebook be sure to head over there and get your free copy whilst the promotion is still on.

The app which is made by Half Brick studios who brought us the amazing fruit ninja is usually 69p is a simple yet effective game in which you must fly around a lab getting as much distance behind you as you can avoiding lasers and collecting coins along the way. There are also missions to complete to this game and whilst there are only a limited amount of missions it took me a good few hours to complete them all.

I have been playing this game for two days now and it’s all I have played solidly, truly addicted and its FREE! What more could you ask for – get it while you can.

Griffin Technology iDevice XL Cable review

Are you stuck when you want charge you iDevice but the Plug or USB port is too far away? I can solve you problem with Griffin Technologies’ XL cable.

It extends where you can go whilst giving you iDevice its vital charge. The only downside I have found is that it adds a small bulk on the Dock Connector.

it retails for about £20 or $35 so its very affordable

Its a great product from a great company Griffin Technology.

GarageBand For iPhone & iPod

Today Apple Press announced that GarageBand will immediately be available to download, and the best thing is… if you bought it for the iPad, you can download it FREE for the other iDevices.

Make sure you download this over Wifi, It’s a 500mb app that takes a while to install even on the faster internet providers, once you have it, you can start making your own works of art. MriOSDevices uses this app sometimes on the iPad to have backing music on there YouTube videos.

GarageBand comes with a whole host of updates in the software  that are listed above, for £2.99 you can have your band in your own pocket. So what would you like to see ported from the iPad to iPhone, or vice versa. As we all know…. recently Facebook finally launched an iPad app, why did it take them two years to do this?
