iPhone 4S Contact bug found in iOS5.0.1

Paul Hontz from The Startup Foundry has found a bug in iOS5.0.1 that prevents the phone from remembering the contacts. the contacts were still in the address book but in the messages and phone app the number would not be recognized as a contacts number.

This problem only seems to be affecting Verizon customers on 5.0.1 and only on the 4S if you have found it in any other carriers or phones let us know in the comments below.

A fix that works from some people has been found:

1) Open the Phone and dial *228. This is a Verizon over-the-air programming number.
2) When the system answer press 1 for “Program or activate your phone”
3) Wait for the call to disconnect. You should get a prompt stating something like, “Settings updated.”
4) Open the Task Manager (double click the home button) and kill the Phone, Message, and Contacts Applications
5) Wait a few minutes
6) Open the Message App to verify the fix.

Artist creates image of what iTV should look like

Steve Jobs’ had said before he died that he’d mastered the Television and lots of rumours have done the rounds  recently. Its called iBox by ADR Studios.

The iBox comes with most of the features you would expect such as Siri and those found in current Apple TVs. Information is not given whether it would replace or work with your current set top box. Although to replace the cable box, Apple would have to work out deals with the cable companies; that doesn’t seem likely.

We expect an App Store and a iPod touch like remote, maybe even a touch screen TV with a built in webcam?

Got A 1st Gen Nano – Here’s How To Get It Replaced New, For FREE

Apple has in the past few hours opened up a worldwide replacement program for the 1st generation iPod Nano. The reason for this is because they have identified a battery issue specifically in that generation, the root of the issue comes from the manufacture of the battery.

We are hoping that due to the demand for the iPods, Apple will replace the model for a more current generation. What do you think they will do?

So MriOSDevices has just purchased 3 iPod Nanos from a popular selling site for the cheap price of £17.00. There are still a couple of bargains there however they are very few & far between.

Above is an image of how to identify if your iPod is the correct generation, they specify on the Apple Website that the front will either be black or white plastic, and the back to be metal. click here for more info.

Whats even more surprising, alone with the integration of Twitter into iOS5, accounts for 5% of the total, iOS5 has only been out for a month yet it is becoming a bit portion of uploads

Here’s a detailed pie chart of all the Devices, Notice how Anroid accounts for 10% with the amount of devices they have it is tiny in comparison to Apple

Steve Jobs Annual Salary Isn’t What People Expected!

Back on the 5th October 2011, 1 of technology’s biggest icons died. This was a very sad day around the world and MriOSDevices were extremely sad when the news broke out.

Although he had $1.4 billion in Apple’s stock and $4.4 billion in Disney stock. Disney stockholders get 35 cents for every share annually so Steve got $48 million a year.

There is a biography of Steve Jobs from Walter Isaacson which is suppose to be the best-selling book this year after only being released on 25th october 2011.

Steve Jobs will be extremely missed and MriOSDevices’ thoughts are with him and his family.
