Are The Smart Covers Too Expensive? Here’s An Alternative!

You just gave your £399+ to Apple for an iPad 2 or 3rd Generation? Looking at the Smart Covers? Hearing your wallet scream at the price? Here is an alternative, it’s still a Smart Cover, just a bit cheaper.

NOTE: NOT OFFICIAL APPLE PRODUCTS.

It is from Swees, it is the Black Polycarbonate model and has all the unlocking features and fits perfectly like the official Apple Product! So how much? £15? £10? No, £8! It’s a steal!  It seems to only be black, and not a leather model, which could put people off but it’s still a great price!

It is so good, Rob is thinking of picking up one, so there maybe a review soon!

That is it for now, in the mean time, enter the Giveaway that’s going!

Apple Introduce iPads To Kids Play Area In Stores

If you’ve ever been into one of Apple’s iconic stores you will probably be aware of the iMacs they have situated on low tables with games on them, for kids. Well after more than 10 years of this popular destination for kids, they have been replaced with brand new iPads. This part of Apple stores worldwide has been present since some of the first Apple Stores, still them the CRT iMacs were used, this provided kids hours of fun while their parents were busy spending their money on Apple products. On the flip-side though you could say that there was some amount of marketing thought put into this. We will let you comprehend that yourselves.

This just goes to show how iconic the iPad has become, and moreover how it has made an huge indent into the gaming market. Perhaps this symbolizes how brilliant the gaming experience on the iPad is and also, how it has caught up with other portable gaming devices, like the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable.

The Mac App Store Reaches 10,000 Apps

The Mac App Store sure has made quite an influence on how we gain access to the software we require on our Macs. For example Apple’s latest operating system was primarily designed to be downloaded right from the Mac App Store for immediate download. However we will say that we witnessed a fair amount of outages and server overload problems regarding the Mac App Store at that time. Therefore we do hope that Apple have managed to sort such problems out come the Mountain Lion release, as there are rumors that they will not offer up an alternative to those who require removable storage access.

Despite this, the Mac App Store has now reached a milestone, 10,000 Apps have been submitted and are available to your Mac. If you put into consideration that this particular store has only been in operation just over a year, thats not a bad achievement. On the flip-side though we have high anticipation that this will continue to grow rapidly after WWDC in June.

It is nothing but apparent that Apple have made another dent into this premature market, and we are sure that there is going to be a lot more to see from the likes of Microsoft and even Linux whom have already started such projects in order to battle Apple!

When Do We Expect The 2012 Mac Pro?

Mac Pro, Apple’s powerhouse, Quad Core, Eight Core, even Twelve! Crazy! But there’s a problem… It hasn’t been refreshed since 2010! Not good as the Quad Core is slower than the high end iMac! The iMac was refreshed in 2011.

When Should We Expect This Refresh?

Well, we think the delay was because The Ivy Bridge Chipset’s got delayed by Intel, which will power the Mac Pro, they just got released a few days back.. So it could be anytime from May to December, but we expect June, a long with the new iMacs, Mac Minis, MacBook Pros and Airs, which will be a defiant upgrade!

Should You Buy A Mac Now?

No, unless you need a Mac now, do not buy, but if you have to, your Mac will not be slow, it will still be super quick! You could sell your Mac nearer to the time of release(which is what everyone does).

We will defiantly keep you updated on this! Hope you’re now informed, have a great day!

78% Of AT&T’s Phone Activations Last Quarter Were iPhones!

Last Quarter, AT&T, the US Mainstream Network activated 5.5 Million iPhones, 4.3 Million were iPhones!

The iPhone is on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and many others, it seems that AT&T is the “iPhone Network” for the US after this report.

These awesome numbers could be because AT&T were the first network to have the iPhone all the way back in 2007, ages ago we know but if people upgrade and think they have a great deal, they’ll stay with that company.

Verizon announced numbers last week including 3.2 million iPhones sold. While the iPhone is down significantly from the holiday quarter, it is up from 3.6 million activations in Q1 2011.

It will be interesting to see what Sprint has to offer with their stats and figures, a long with all those smaller US Networks.

Review: Cut The Buttons

Cut the buttonsSo, you’ve gotten yourself a new iPad, so now its time to get some awesome news apps to  take advantage of those blazing fast quad core graphics. Cut The Buttons might be just for you. This App, developed by Open Name LTD, presents a very unique gaming experience, but at the same time there are a few things that you can easily relate to that you have possibly seen in other Applications within the App Store.

The aim of the game here is to cut the most amount of buttons of the pieces of fabric as possible. Furthermore from this though you have to collect them into a basket, which can be positioned relative to where you decide to cut the buttons off, in addition to this you can move the basket while you are busy cutting buttons off of clothes. However like many games, there is a slight twist in the synopsis. Embedded within these items of clothing and pieces of fabric can be metal items, like screws and pins. If these are cut, not only do you lose points but you take there risk of damaging your all mighty, multitouch, scissors.

Pros:

You will immediately find when you first open up this App that it takes full advantage of the multitouch gestures used on the iOS platform. This is because of the fact that you have to use the ‘scissor action’ to navigate around the app, similar to fruit ninja. We feel that the developer has put a great amount of effort into optimizing this Application for ease of navigation. They have done a great job in that sense. Once in the game, you will find that more and more multitouch gestures are necessary. Due to the fact that you have the option of moving the basket around to maximize the amount of buttons that you collect, which results in you accumulating more points.

As you have read above, we think that this App could be the perfect companion for your new iPad, of course you can still run this Application very smoothly on both the iPad 1st generation and the iPad 2, and the graphical interface is still one of the best out there and we can blatantly see that the developers have spent a lot of money and time on designing this App, so that it can keep up with all of the other graphically beautiful Apps within its category. On the flip-side though, they have very recently updated their App, so that its retina display friendly. Wow! This is like a whole different Application with the retina display, purely because of the detail that is presented, and more notably the color saturation, reproduction and distribution.

Cons:

Despite the fact that we like the cross platform capabilities of this App we feel that its pretty pointless to use on the iPhone, due to the issue of the smaller screen. A reason for this is that it really does take advantage of the larger screen.

People who sport larger hands/fingers may have a somewhat hard time playing this game. A reason why we think this is because, the scissors are one size and the one size is rather small. Furthermore we have found that this issue can cause the scissor to appear quite jumpy in some situations – that regularly occur within normal gameplay.
