Webagram, View Yours and Others Instagram Photos Online + Interview With Developer!

Instagram the awesome little photo sharing app for iPhone has been on the market for 1 and a half years now and was recently ported to android and later sold to Facebook for $1 billion. this sale has caused many users to move away from the service. Instagram currently has over 30 million users any service that integrates with it is sure to get lots of users.
Will Evans (Who was kind enough to give us an interview below) previous iPhone developer decided to use the instagram API to integrate his website with instagram so users could log straight in with their instgram login without having to make a new account.
Webagram allows you to view all your Instagram photos online in a nice viewer as you can see above as well as allowing you to download all your photos for users wishing to move away from the service. once a user has logged into the site via the instagram API they can easily view their photos at http://www.webagram.net/[Instagram_Username]. the only thing that i would be cautious of is the fact that once you have approved this service anyone can input your username and see all your photos.

As you can see the images are nicely set out so you can see them and any comments you have put with them. it also allows you to see how many people liked the photo. A feature that i really like about this is that its super simple to set up which can be an important thing for some people. The service is available for free at www.webagram.net and i would recommend it to all instagram users.
What other services like this do you currently have on the web?
“I used to have a service, ClipBoy but I recently shut that down, for various reasons.”
Do you plan on expanding to other apps and doing similar things and future plans for Webagram?
“Hopefully I am going to be implementing some cool new things, maybe liking and commenting on images and also some better sharing techniques.”
future plans for new services?
“At the minute I plan on making new services when I feel the need for there to be one, I cannot predict when, but whenever there is an opportunity, I will hopefully be making something.”
You made iOS apps, do you have any upcoming iOS projects?
“Not at the minute, my iOS career has very much ended for the time being and I mainly just do web development now, I find it much more enjoyable and versatile. Although I may be porting webagram to a web-app in the future!”

iTunes Facing A New Lawsuit
Well it seems Apple are having yet another lawsuit against them. This time it’s to do with iTunes. Benjamin Grobler belives that iTunes and PSN breaches his copyright data vending system. which basically allows sharing of apps an other such things from a central network. The part of iTunes that infiringes this is iTunes in the cloud.

The patent holder is trying to claim damages from Apple, however we will have to wait and see how this one turns out. The patent number for those interested is No. 6,799,084

Apple Introduces New Price Tiers For App Store Developers!
Apple today announced two new pricing tiers for high-end apps on the app store. this allows developers to price their apps at 2 new prices: $124.99 and $174.99.
this allows more flexibility fordeveopers to sell their apps at the price they want. nobody is quite sure why apple introduced these prices specifically but it’s always good for developers to have more flexibility.

How To Fix The White Icons After Absinthe Jailbreak
After I jailbroke my iPhone 4S I was riddled with stock apps having white icons. I used v0.1 of absinthe. Then @planetbeing said if you were having an issue just install an app from cydia something which I had already done.
The white icon bug doesn’t affect functionality but is really annoying. After asking around ad searching the web for hours I was told to use the Fix dir permissions in SBSettings this didn’t work. I even restored and rejailbroken with absinthe v0.3.
So I looked through the default packages in cydia and realised the install that configured the icons is called libhide. Reinstalling this package fixes the white icons no matter how many times you reboot and restore.
Below is a guide to re-installing libhide
1. Open cydia
2. Goto the manage tab and click on settings
3. Change it to developer
4. Go into installed packages
5. Find libhide
6. Click manage then reinstall
Done

iPhone 4S Contact bug found in iOS5.0.1
Paul Hontz from The Startup Foundry has found a bug in iOS5.0.1 that prevents the phone from remembering the contacts. the contacts were still in the address book but in the messages and phone app the number would not be recognized as a contacts number.
This problem only seems to be affecting Verizon customers on 5.0.1 and only on the 4S if you have found it in any other carriers or phones let us know in the comments below.
A fix that works from some people has been found:
1) Open the Phone and dial *228. This is a Verizon over-the-air programming number.
2) When the system answer press 1 for “Program or activate your phone”
3) Wait for the call to disconnect. You should get a prompt stating something like, “Settings updated.”
4) Open the Task Manager (double click the home button) and kill the Phone, Message, and Contacts Applications
5) Wait a few minutes
6) Open the Message App to verify the fix.
