Common Myths About Unlocking

It seems like everyday we get more and more people interested in unlocking their iPhone but we also hear more and more concerns about some common myths related to unlocking an iPhone so I think it’s important to address them. We would like to state that unlocking your iPhone is completely 100% safe when using a quality unlocking tutorial that has been tested and even if you do somehow mess up the unlocking process restoring your iPhone to it’s previous settings before you unlocked is as easy as plugging your iPhone into your computer and selecting the “restore” function inside of iTunes which will load up all your previously saved settings and restart/reboot your iPhone with all functions working.

Myth: Only Experienced Hackers Can Unlock An iPhone

False: In the very early versions of iPhone unlocks such as those for the original iPhone this was mostly true but thankfully today the process has become so easy that just about anyone can unlock their iPhone as long as they have a quality unlocking guide that explains the complete process.

Myth: Unlocking Can Void Your Warranty

False: The only way unlocking can void your iPhone’s warranty is if you leave your device unlocked whenever you send it in to get checked up at the Apple store or send it in for repair. But it’s very easy to get around this simply by performing an “iPhone restore” via iTunes. What this does is roll back and reverse the unlock so that when Apple takes a look at your iPhone they don’t see that you have unlocked and they will honor their warranty 100%. Then when you get your iPhone back from Apple you can simply “re-unlock” your device and continue enjoying your unlocked iPhone service.

Myth: Unlocking is Illegal

False: We don’t know where this myth comes from but it’s completely and totally false, it’s so false that even the congressional office & U.S patent office made a ruling stating that jailbreaking and unlocking any cell phone device (including the iPhone) is completely and 100% legal because YOU own the device so you are able to do whatever you want with it. This myth was probably started by the various phone carriers who managed to lock in exclusive (and as a result overpriced) contracts so that they wouldn’t lose customers to cheaper cell phone providers.

Myth: Unlocking Can Damage Your iPhone

False: this is one of the most common myths and again it really ties into the early versions of iPhone unlocks that were floating around when the first iPhone came out, back then the process wasn’t so easy and one little error could render your iPhone next to useless. But thankfully these days jailbreaking and unlocking is so much easier that the chances of messing up and ruining your iPhone are almost non-existent and if for some reason you do mess up, you can use the backup and restore feature that is available through iTunes so you can reverse and undo the unlock within a matter of minutes. There have been over 100,000 downloads for our iPhone unlocking solution and we’ve never heard of somebody damaging or ruining their iPhone so you can be sure that the entire process is 100% safe and bullet proof.
