Yesterday there where reports claiming a solid launch date for Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors and also it’s next generation thunderbolt technology which are expected to launch April 23rd. It would be nice if they headed to next the Mac refresh as it offers new possibilities for Apple to create Retina Displays because of the Ivy Bridge’s low power consumption.
The Ivy Core processor offer 4 cores, 40% less power consuming that the current sandy bridge processors, Intel HD 4000 which will apparently have 200% better performance that it’s current predecessor. This means if we were to see them in the next MacBook Pro it would have a better Graphics processor plus less power consuming and USB 3.0.
This processor plus new thunderbolt technology is perfect together and gives Apple the opportunity to show what thunderbolt can do. Seeing these in new Mac refreshes will most likely happen as most of intel’s partners are making notebooks powered by the new Ivy Bridge processor.
The DSL3510 is the processor most likely to be in the new Mac desktop systems while the DSL3310 would be in the notebook platforms.
Last week there were reports of 600000 Macs being infected by what is known as the ‘Flashback Virus’ which was caused by tricking users into installing which appeared to be flash player but was really Malware. This came to a shock for a lot of people as OS X is known for it’s Virus free platform but this theory was proved wrong.
Apple responded to their promise to a fix today when they released the fix that will remove the malware from the 1% of Macs affected and will prevent all users from getting the Malware.
Hit up software update and install the 66.8MB update!
Release Notes:
This Java security update removes the most common variants of the Flashback malware.
This update also configures the Java web plug-in to disable the automatic execution of Java applets. Users may re-enable automatic execution of Java applets using the Java Preferences application. If the Java web plug-in detects that no applets have been run for an extended period of time it will again disable Java applets.
This update is recommended for all Mac users with Java installed.
Here it is, the video that displays what Jailbreaking is about, Thanks to the guys over at Jailbreak Matrix for this video of 100 jailbreak tweaks. Jailbreaking started in the middle of 2007, before the app store was even a sparkle in Steve Jobs’ eye, today it is used by millions upon millions of people worldwide.
Although completely legal, Apple still will not approve of jailbreaking, this has it’s pros and cons, thankfully more pros. There are some negatives that frustrate many jailbreakers, the biggest in MriOSDevices is understanding, many users think that it is buggy, unstable, illegal, even difficult, and a couple of years ago, they may have been right.
Today jailbreaks are actually SAFER than the security of iOS, the whole premise of a jailbreak comes from flaws in iOS in the first place, So what are you waiting for, watch the video and see if you will give it a shot, it is completely reversible and will not void your warranty.
Make sure you check out jailbreakcon.com/wwjc for the World’s first Jailbreak Convention happening this September in San Francisco CA. They are also giving away the new iPad, an Apple TV and tonnes of apparel. Good luck!
After iOS 5.1 came out and the iPad 3 followed, as well with 4G LTE. Many people are lead to believe that the next iPhone will be 4G LTE. This might infact be true, because some command lines found in iOS 5.1 show promising signs:

In addition to the 4G LTE, we should have FaceTime on 4G LTE for the next iPhone, What are your thoughts & what would you like to see on the next generation device?
For a long time, Twitter has been around, now with everyone on Smartphones, especially the iPhone, there is more choice of applications. The main ones at the moment are Tweetbot and Twitter For iPhone. There is more like TweetDeck etc but we’re comparing these two.
Tweetbot is a paid app, however Twitter For iPhone is free, this could swing you.
Features
Clean UI
Smart Gestures.
Nice Notifications
Streaming (when on WiFI with settings to disable it)
That’s just a few features that come included.

Well, Rob and Dan use Twitter For iPhone, just because it was really the first Twitter app that was mass used and we’re used to it, with 4.0 its got a great UI and great settings to tweak the amazing app. Lots love Tweetbot but it’s not for us. Tell us your verdict! Comment below.

MriOSDevices are trying some new topics out on here and one we came up with are App First Looks and Reviews.
The latest one we are reviewing is called Where’s My Water?
This very addictive game is made by Disney and is aimed at anyone that can control an iOS Device.
The aim of the game is to get the water to the Crocodile so he can have his long awaited bath, something he very enjoys as he sings you a song when you complete the level.
Sounds easy? Its not, there is lots of intruders in the way, including bombs, nasty green slime and more.
Here is the description of the game
Where’s My Water? is a challenging physics-based puzzler complete with vibrant graphics, intuitive controls, and a sensational soundtrack. To be successful, you need to be clever and keep an eye out for algae, toxic ooze, triggers, and traps.
Rob loves it and gives it a 9/10, what do you give it??
So Crocodile, why you been stealing water? Answer that in the comments.
This Wednesday, March 7th brings the iPad 3 Event! Today, at the venue, Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco, the typical, funky Apple Banners have been put up.
These banners are typical for Keynotes, giving the venue a funky look when the Keynote takes place on Wednesday.
The banner is just about finished and takes up the Glass Wall Exterior of the venue, the image the banner portrays is a splash of paint with an Apple Logo in the middle.
We have done a lot of coverage on the iPad 3 including the Event Confirmation which was an article added a few days back, check it out!

With the news of “Mac OS X 10.8 AKA Mountain Lion, we will over the next few weeks see little updates to an already iOS involved operating system.
In the latest developer preview, we’ve already heard about a few major additions to OS 10.8 – this will be available to the public in the summer of 2012 [less than a year since OS 10.7 Lion].
What some people have already noticed is the “Mac” name in parts of the OS, gone. This show’s that Apple are dead set on creating a more iOS user interface in their computers.
As you can see above, the main “about this Mac” is missing a pretty significant word, Apple have removed this to give their products a more uniformed partnership. while 10.7 Lion was obviously a step towards a more mobile esq platform. Mountain Lion integrates much more, with the likes of Messages, Notifications & GameCentre
Here’s a recap video from MrThaiBox123 on YouTube – give him a subscribe for the latest in everything Apple
MriOSDevices has always been a fan of Lion, in all honesty Mountain Lion will impress us even more. Make sure you bookmark out site for all the latest in Apple news. You can follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook and Subscribe to us on YouTube
So the rumour mill has been spinning full throttle the past few days, MriOSDevices wants to give you it’s perception of whats to come.
1. So what is most likely to be in the 3rd instalment of the iPad?
As far as we are concerned, the iPad 3 or 2S will have a retina display, this was anticipated in the current version however Apple struggled with battery power and it didn’t come to light.
Also expected that the next-gen iPad will have a larger battery to handle this screen as well as handle the extra processing power.
The new A6 chipset is expected in this version and it will also feature a quad-core processor
2. How much will it cost?
Many rumour and the consistency of apple makes this pretty easy to recommend, Prices for the base model wifi only will be approx £399.00 UK or $499.00 US running all the way to the top model (Wifi & 3G model) costing £659.00 UK & $829.00 US
True to form when the next-gen iPad is announced, Apple should drop the price of the current iPad by £100 / $100 so if you’re looking for a bargain then this might be your option.
Another widely anticipated extra will be a 128GB drive, what would we see this priced at, leave a comment below with your thoughts.
3. What software can we expect
Siri is currently only for the iPhone 4S, Mainly to encourage users to purchase their latest devices, we can honestly see Siri coming to the next iPad as it will attract users without Siri currently on their older devices
It will come with iOS 5 like the current iPad, the next major firmware upgrade will be 5.1 which is currently in Beta.
4. What would we like to see on the next iPad
If apple can give us all of the above then i think this would be a successful update to an already brilliant device, Picture that we will post below show upgraded rear cameras however no sign of an upgraded front facing camera (which is very much-needed) hopefully the rear camera will match, if not super seed the 4s 8mp)
5. Finally – will a tablet give apple any competition in 2012
This is pretty much an easy answer in my opinion, no….. Apple is finally achieving a world-wide boom in profit, sales and recognition. this is something Window’s has held so several years in an already difficult market.
The only competitor that’s realising apple is currently Samsung, and personally. as long as they try to get customers by insulting apples achievements then we doubt they will.
