Being a fan of modding my iDevices with Cydia since 2007, I have always enjoyed being able to have something that the next person doesn’t have. Today we are in a world where million up on millions of Apple devices are in the pockets and bags of most people. Especially living in London, I am forever seeing Apple devices on the tube and buses around the City.
Back in 2007 I was fortunate enough to purchase my 1st gen iPhone approx 6 months before release in the UK, one of the reasons was because of the capabilities of the phone Apple had released, the other reason was because I was one of the first in the UK to have one!
This video above gives me that feeling I once had for my first gen iPhone, the ability to create something that no one has, the ability to charge your iPhone WIRELESSLY. I know this is nothing major, perhaps it’s the geek in me but I love the fact we can modify our devices to our needs.
The iPhone battery has sometimes been an issue for some, plugging into a wall outlet several times a day, personally I always have access to a power pack or wall outlet, additionally have multiple iDevices helps me manage my battery consumption.
Today an engineer has modified his iPhone to wirelessly charge from a Power-mat, something that many hope for in ‘the new iPhone’ – today you can try this yourself, but be warned… this is not for mr average Joe, you need to have knowledge of iPhone assembly and the ability to solder etc.
MriOSDevices suggests you do not try this yourself, we don’t want to hear of people breaking their iPhones trying this out, but it does make us curious to see if it actually works. Which leads me to my question to you, what would you like to see on the new iPhone. Leave it in the comments below.
