Full Mac Refresh Next Week… Sure Looks Like It [Images]

So, another picture of the product list has shown up on the internet today, according to the witness who took the photo, “K5BPLUS” co-insides with the Mac Pro range. The Mac Pro is long overdue a refresh and it looks like next week we will see this and the other mac hardware getting an update at WWDC.

The other model numbers remain unknown, however they are ranked in some order, MriOSDevices thinks that the third one down ‘D2.BEST’ has got to be a top of the range MacBook Pro, as it’s the only device that could possibly come near a price point at $3,000

Cydia On The Apple TV In HD

One question that I regularly get asked is “what use is a Jailbreak on the ATV”

The answer is always, ALOT… But very soon it will be a whole lot more! thanks to @stroughtonsmith – he has been working on porting Cydia to the Apple TV.

Currently you can install tweaks and a limited number of applications, which include; weather apps, remote apps, XBMC, NitoTV (Installer) and so on. Smith has been making steady progress with “Side by Side iOS app running on the ATV and just minutes ago, posted a shot on Cydia running in 720p on the ATV

He has previously demoed application from the AppStore running on the Apple TV as well

Personally for me this is very exciting, making an already brilliant device (with the help of a Jailbreak) even better..

iOS Dominating Android 4 : 1 On Twitter

Twitter is used by millions of people world wide, everyday hundred’s of thousands of photos are uploaded via various devices. You might not be surprised to hear it but iDevices account for 40% of the images uploaded.

Whats even more surprising, alone with the integration of Twitter into iOS5, accounts for 5% of the total, iOS5 has only been out for a month yet it is becoming a bit portion of uploads

Here’s a detailed pie chart of all the Devices, Notice how Anroid accounts for 10% with the amount of devices they have it is tiny in comparison to Apple

Another interesting fact is that an iOS Application, Instagram is proving a great tool for Twitter users sharing there edited photos.

WRITTEN GUIDE

1: Jailbreak your iPhone/iPod touch on iOS 5 using Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze.

2: Download files required for the Siri port to iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G. You will have to find these files yourself as we wont be able to share these files with you.

3: Using a file explorer for your iOS device, copy over the AssistantServices.framework folder you downloaded in Step 2 to Root > System > Library > PrivateFrameworks after plugging in your device to your computer via USB.

4: Transfer all files from the Springboard folder in Step 2 to Root > System > Library > CoreServices > Springboard.app on your iOS device.

5: Using iFile (you can get it from Cydia), open the .plist file for your iOS device from System > Library > CoreServices > Springboard.app. It will be named N81AP for iPod touch 4G and N9x for iPhone 4 (where x may be 0, 1, 2).

6: Add a new property list named assistant to the .plist file and set its class as Boolean while setting its value as YES.

7: Add the following to the .plist file:

<key>assistant</key><true/>

8: Respring your iOS device.

If you followed the steps correctly, Siri’s GUI will be installed on your iOS device. You can hold the Home button to activate it. Once again, we remind you that voice commands don’t work yet since Apple’s servers don’t accept voice command input from iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G.
